Romania – Predefined Project on Search & Rescue
In Romania, DSB is donor project partner (dpp) for a predefined project on improved disaster resilience, under programme area 23 'Disaster prevention and preparedness'. Romanian project promoter is the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU).
The purpose of the project is to enhance the operative staff preparedness to face environmental risks and emergencies in order to improve disaster resilience of the community, and thus provide an environment conducive to social and economic development.
One of the main activities is building a training facility for first responders. Better prepared first responders will ensure an efficient response, which will lead to reduced loss of human life and less material damages.
Through this project, DSB also seeks to strengthen Norwegian Search & Rescue capacity.
DSB also participates as Donor Programme Partner (DPP) for the Romanian 'Home Affairs' programme.
