In a humanitarian effort, it is crucial that the international aid workers have a safe place to live, eat and work. Norwegian Support Team was established to provide this type of support, by delivering complete tent solutions in the field.
NST consists of a crew pool that includes several occupational categories, such as craftsmen, cooks, nurses and others, and a tent camp that can house the aid workers.
The camps are adapted to the individual mission, from a few tents intended for a small number of aid workers, up to camps for 50-100 people. By cooperating with our sister organizations, this can be further expanded. The usual intervention period is six weeks to six months.
Around 20 NST missions have been carried out since 1999.
