Choose the right jack
If you are going to change the wheels on the car, you must do this as recommended by the manufacturer, and with suitable tools. The safest thing to do is to get a jack that meets the requirements of the standard (NS –EN 1494:2000 + A1:2008).
Look for the CE mark, this is documentation that the product meets basic safety requirements. In addition, the necessary user information must be included.

Check what the jack can handle
Many have received a spare wheel and tire change equipment delivered with the car, either as standard equipment or for a fee. Did you know that some of these jacks are only intended to replace one damaged wheel, not for multiple use?
To be sure of what use your jack can withstand, check your car's manual or ask your car dealer.
Dangerous jacks
From time to time, jacks are discovered on the market that do not measure up. Jacks that are withdrawn from the market are registered in DSB's product database.
