DSB has therefore started work on putting in place a new Nødnett that will take care of the needs of emergency and emergency users after the phasing out of the current Nødnett.
A new Nødnett that uses new technology can safeguard and further develop the services that users depend on in their everyday lives. Among other things, it may be possible to send video and data in groups in a fast and secure way; a service that is not supported in today's Nødnett.
A new Nødnett must be managed so that it will be possible to develop other subsequent services that can be built on the solution.
