Arctic Radiation Exercise in High North 2023

A nuclear driven vessel in coastal waters outside the town of Bodø in Northern Norway is in trouble. The captain reports an accident, that will have consequences on both sea and land, as well as cross-border contamination. A massive local, regional, national and international response is required.

This is the scenario of exercise Arctic REIHN 2023, which aim is to test, verify and further develop emergency preparedness and response in the case of a nuclear or radiological accident in the Arctic. This includes mechanisms for alerting other nations, and for rendering and receiving international assistance.
